WELCOME to the 63rd Annual Meeting and Tennis Celebration Weekend of USTA Florida! Our schedule is jammed packed with exciting events as we “Celebrate Change”, our theme for this year’s weekend. Friday is our traditional “work” day with meetings for our Board of Directors, Junior Team Tennis LLCs, League LLCs, Tennis On Campus (TOC) Coordinators and our Mentors and Protégés session on Volunteer Development. Our tennis event is on Friday afternoon so be sure to sign up, bring your tennis racquet and play. After tennis join us for a welcome dinner party where you can network with other USTA Florida volunteers and staff. If this is your first time attending you are encouraged to attend the Volunteer Development session and then join us for a newcomer’s cocktail party, where you can meet our BOD and learn a little more about our organization.
Saturday morning will begin with our Opening General Session. Jon Gordon, best selling author and our keynote speaker, will jump start the day with his principles for a positive attitude. Immediately following Jon’s presentation will be our 63rd Annual Meeting. We’ll be joined by Delaine Mast, USTA National Board Member, who will share information on the state of tennis worldwide. After a busy morning, we’ll adjourn to the Awards Luncheon where we’ll honor those individuals who have meant so much to the association in the past year. Following the Awards luncheon, join us as we present “The Future Forecast: Looking Ahead into 2013”. We’ll conclude the day with dinner and an opportunity to participate in our most popular and rewarding activity, “Meals of Hope”. Help us “Share the Love” and package approximately 40,000 meals for the homeless in the Orlando area.
Sunday morning will feature our “Breakfast with the Stars” and “USTA Florida Awards Presentation”. We’ll take some time to focus on honoring those who have made 2012 so successful and honor those who have committed many years of service to the association. Our weekend will end with testimonials from our “Share the Love” grant recipients.
