National Championship Eligibility Guidelines

The United States Tennis Association (USTA), Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) and the National Intramural-Recreational Sports Association (NIRSA) have developed a partnership to provide college students the opportunity to play tennis as part of USTA’s Tennis on Campus program.  Through these partnerships, USTA Florida looks forward to having the college community become involved in tennis as participants in a Tennis Club and/or an Intramural program.

Tennis Clubs are organized by students for students through the school’s recreational sports department.  Tennis Clubs are co-ed where they practice, play and socialize with each other along with competing against other schools.  USTA Florida provides play opportunities for the Tennis Clubs through its College Championship Series (CCS).  This event is a series of monthly tournaments hosted by various schools throughout the Section.  USTA Florida hosts the USTA Campus Championship - Florida Section which leads to advancement opportunities to the National Campus Championship.

USTA Florida is available to assist with the following resources:

  • Provide curriculum for a start-up USTA Tennis on Campus program.
  • Assist in forming recognized Tennis Sport Clubs.
  • Offer the opportunity to participate and compete in the following events: USTA Campus Championship - Florida Section, the USTA National Campus Championship and USTA Florida’s College Championship Series

Contact Andy McFarland at McFarland@florida.usta.com or 386-671-8927 if you have additional questions or would like to start a USTA Tennis on Campus program at your school.
