The Florida Recreation and Park Association (FRPA) has released their quarterly Spring FRPA Journal featuring USTA Florida. In October 2006, the FRPA offered USTA Florida an exciting opportunity to publicize the sport of tennis in their quarterly Spring FRPA Journal. Eleanor Warmack, Executive Director of FRPA, encouraged USTA Florida to be the featured organization in the issue, dedicating eleven full pages and the front cover to Florida programs and tennis initiatives. This may be the first time any section office has had full coverage in a state agency’s publication with regards to tennis.
The Spring Journal issue should reach over 2100 park agencies by the end of March.
Linda Curtis, USTA Florida Director of Community Development, believes this is one of the most important partnerships USTA Florida has and expects to see tennis grow in public parks throughout the state.
“In the last five years, our partnership with the FRPA has strengthened immeasurably,” she said. “This is a positive win-win relationship between two organizations invested in improving the lives of individuals within the communities; and tennis is the perfect match!”
