Chuck Collier is December’s Volunteer of the Month

December 16, 2003 11:01 AM
Sir Charles
The USA Tennis League Department has recently knighted Chuck Collier, “Sir Charles.”  With an occasion like that, we are further celebrating his extraordinary volunteer work by choosing Chuck as December’s volunteer of the month.

Chuck lives with his wife Joanne in Mulberry.  He is the Director of Tennis at ImperiaLakes Country Club.  For the past year, he has served as a member of the Adults Leagues Council on the Rules and Regulations Committee.  In addition, he represented the League Council on the Community Assessment Realignment Planning Subcommittee.  This involved the restructuring for Florida for 2005.  According to Sue DeLong, former president of USA Tennis Florida, Chuck was a superb member of this subcommittee.  “There was a LOT of pre-meeting preparation required and he was totally prepared.  There was a TON of after-meeting emails finalizing the reports and he was a good participant. He has professional approach to tasking and his input is well thought-out.”

Jacqui Brunton, Director of Adult Leagues for USA Tennis Florida states, “We knighted him Sir Charles because of his outstanding involvement and enthusiasm in carrying out the responsibilities of every volunteer aspect ever asked of him regarding the league program.  Always willing, always giving, always supporting, he is the epitome of what a volunteer is meant to be.”

Chuck’s reason for all this hard work, simply stated, “Because I enjoy it!  Volunteering gives me a great opportunity to interact with a fantastic group of people, the USA Tennis Florida staff and other volunteers, who are all dedicated to promoting the sport for all ages in Florida.”

Thank you, Sir Charles.  We appreciate everything that you do!
