John Johnston, of Gainesville, Florida, Receives PTR's Wheelchair Pro of The Year Award.

Several awards were presented during the PTR/ROHO $15,000 Wheelchair Tennis Championships, held September 22-26 on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.  The presentations were made during the annual ROHO Awards Banquet, held at the Crowne Plaza Resort on Hilton Head Island on Friday, September 24th.

John Johnston, of Gainesville, Florida, received PTR's Wheelchair Pro of the Year Award.  Johnston, a PTR member since 1989, devotes much of his time to support tennis, both able bodied and wheelchair.  Johnston is the tennis coach at Buchholz High School and plays on several able bodied USTA Leagues.  This year, he will be the first wheelchair player ever to compete in the USTA Nationals.  Johnston, along with his partner. Lee Hinson, won the Masters Open Doubles division of the 2004 PTR/ROHO Championships.
