Watch out college tennis! The Florida freshman class is here. At the Riviera/ITA Women's All-American Championships in California this October, Audra Cohen of Northwestern,  Whitney Benik and Lolita Frangulyan of Florida dominated the top talent in the country. Audra Cohen from Plantation was unseeded and made her way through pre-qualifying, qualifying and main draw. The freshman phenom won an outstanding 12 matches in 9 days. She is the first tennis player from Northwestern to win a national singles title. Go Audra, you make Florida proud.

Audra proved Florida’s training ground in singles, but  Gators Whitney Benik and Lolita Frangulyan showed that Florida is producing great doubles players as well. The freshman duo took a similar road of hard knocks to win the title. They won 10 matches in 9 days and also fought through pre-qualifying.
