Event to be Held at Stock Development's The Players Club & Spa and Olde Cypress Golf Course This November

After six successful years located in Florida's Palm Beach County, the SWINGTIME Pro-Celebrity, Pro-Am Tennis & Golf Tournament is moving across state to Naples, Fla., on November 19-20, where the host sites will be Stock Development's The Players Club & Spa at Lely Resort and Olde Cypress Golf & Country Club.

Swingtime, an event that is designed to publicize the Tim & Tom Gullikson Foundation's aim of assisting brain-tumor patients and their families in managing the physical, emotional and social challenges presented by the illness – world-class tennis pro Tim Gullikson passed away in 1996 at age 44 after losing his battle with brain cancer -- has a unique format that combines a round-robin Tennis Pro-Am, a Golf Pro-Am Tournament, a Tennis Exhibition by world-class professional players, and a spectacular Saturday night gala.

Swingtime host Tom Gullikson, the twin brother of Tim Gullikson, will be joined at this year's event by former world No. 1 Chris Evert, who won 18 Grand Slam singles titles during her illustrious career. Evert, who was inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame in 1995, opened the Evert Tennis Academy in Boca Raton in 1996.

Mardy Fish and James Blake, two of the charismatic players currently traveling the ATP tour, have also given early acceptances to this year's Swingtime event. Both Fish and Blake have been dedicated members of the US Davis Cup team during their careers. Other participating international sports stars, as well as non-sports celebrities, will be announced in the coming months.

"We have had a great time the past six years hosting Swingtime in Palm Beach County, but are delighted that in 2005 we will be bringing the event to Naples and the entire Southwest Florida community," Tom Gullikson said. "Swingtime has been a special way that my family and I can celebrate the memory of my brother Tim, and it's a privilege to be able to raise money to help other families touched by a loved one suffering with a brain tumor. I am thrilled that Chrissie, Mardy and James have already committed to this year's Swingtime event."

During the past six years, tennis celebrities such as Andy Roddick, Serena Williams, Venus Williams, Jennifer Capriati, Jim Courier, Todd Martin, Stan Smith, Mary Joe Fernandez, Corina Morariu have taken part in Swingtime festivities. Other stars that have participated in Swingtime in the past were golfers Michelle McGann, Jane Geddes, Annette DeLuca and Brad Faxon; Olympian Bob Beamon, Baseball stars Gary Carter, Bill Gullickson and Keith Hernandez; NFL legends Joe Namath and Paul Warfield; TV Sports Commentators Rich Eisen, Linda Cohn and Brett Haber and actors Robin Givens and James McDaniels.

"We are looking forward to bringing the good times of the Swingtime weekend to our new homes in Naples," said Michele L. Cope, the Event Director of Swingtime. "We know that the Naples community will rally behind Swingtime just like our friends in Palm Beach have done the past six years."

The schedule for this year's Swingtime event is a Tennis Pro-Am on Saturday, November 19 from 9:00 a.m. to noon, where amateur participants will have the opportunity to play with and against some of the most celebrated tennis players in the sport. A Tennis Exhibition will follow the Pro-Am and will feature three matches with current and past ATP and WTA Tour players.

On Saturday night, participants will have a chance to mingle and dine with professional athletes and celebrities at the Gala, which will feature a cocktail reception, gourmet dinner, and a silent and live auction as well as entertainment.

The schedule for Sunday, November 20 is a Golf Pro-Am Tournament from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. followed by the Awards Reception for the tennis and golf pro-am participants and guests.
