Mary Harowski to Promote and Develop Tennis in Florida

October 14, 2005 10:57 AM

Daytona Beach – USTA Florida is excited to welcome the newest addition to its team – Mary Harowski, APR, of Ormond Beach – as the Fund Development Coordinator.  Mary has 30 years of experience in fund development, board development, community and volunteer relations and donor cultivation predominantly in the not-for-profit sector.

As an independent consultant for USTA Florida, Mary's responsibilities will include advising and assisting selected Community Tennis Associations (CTAs) in the development of fundraising plans, compiling grant proposals for submission, and working closely with the Community Tennis Council.  Her efforts in assisting CTAs will help translate their vision, strategies, and plans of action into fundable proposals which will move the organization toward financial self-sufficiency.

“I love tennis, and I’ve spent my entire career raising money and awareness for wonderful causes.  What could be better than combining my two greatest passions?” Mary said.  “I look forward to getting to know the Florida CTAs and helping to grow their community tennis programs.”

Mary and her husband Tom are principals of TMH Consulting, Inc., which provides planning, development and growth management, fund development, and public relations services to an array of public and private clients.

Mary’s tenure with the American Cancer Society and Easter Seals includes preparing successful grant proposals and fund development campaigns; developing publicity programs; working closely with boards of directors in meeting organizational goals; and managing Easter Seals Volusia & Flagler Counties’, FL $3.5 million capital campaign.

Accredited in Public Relations, Mary is a charter member and past president of the Florida Public Relations Association, Volusia County Chapter and a charter member of the Grants Network of Volusia County.

USTA Florida is thrilled to welcome this highly-qualified, enthusiastic individual.  Mary’s experience and determination are certain to support USTA Florida in its mission to promote and develop tennis in Florida!
