BMW Combo Doubles Tip # 3

LOOK FOR THE DOUBLES “GRAND CANYON”!
by USPTA Master Professional Bob Love
Louisville, KY.

“GRAND CANYON”—the zone of weakness over the center of the net created by a left-handed and right-handed doubles team when they come and have their backhands in the middle!  Good players can create offensive pressure by hitting clearing lobs through this zone.

High-backhand overheads are almost always weaker than smashes over the forehand side.
When playing a left handed and right-handed doubles team KNOW where their backhands are at the start of every point.  They are either “outside” or “inside”.  If “inside”, ATTACK “GRAND CANYON”!

The BMW Cruise Bike Sweepstakes
As part of the sponsorship between USTA Florida and USTA Southern with BMW of North America, LLC, USTA members have a unique opportunity to enter for a chance to win a BMW Cruise Bike, valued at $800.
The BMW Cruise Bike is a mixture of a beach cruiser and a trekking bike with a cushioned seat. Whether it's an adventure in the countryside or riding on rough city streets it's a pleasurable experience. The bike's tires are smooth in the middle, yet they have plenty of traction toward the outer area to help navigate through wet riding conditions. Suntour suspensions provide for a smooth ride on uneven terrain. The frame and bike chassis geometry comply with latest industry standards for sporty city bikes and comfortable trekking bikes for hours of cycling fun.
