Relieve Stress – PLAY TENNIS!

April is Stress Awareness Month!

Stress Awareness Month is a national, cooperative effort to inform people about the dangers of stress, provide successful coping strategies, and inform people of the harmful misconceptions about stress that are prevalent in our society.

Did you know?

  • 75% of the general population experiences at least "some stress" every two weeks.
  • Stress contributes to heart disease, high blood pressure, strokes and other illnesses in many individuals.
  • Stress also affects the immune system, which protects us from many serious diseases.
  • Stress also contributes to the development of alcoholism, obesity, suicide, drug addiction, cigarette addiction, and other harmful behaviors.

A game of tennis provides a distraction from the source of your stress, and you can let off some steam and improve your mood.  It will also relax and re-energize your body!  So get out there – it’s your game.
