January 3, 2007 01:50 PM

In 2006, Sandi Pardon of Miami was recognized by USTA Florida as Official of the Year and Female Merit Award Winner.  It is no surprise that Sandi’s hard work and dedication to the sport of tennis has earned her this months honors for January Volunteer of the Month.

Sandi volunteers in a multitude of services for USTA Florida.  She has over a decade of experience officiating and was recently appointed a member of the national USTA Officials Committee for 2007.  She is sectional chair of the Grievance Committee and has served on USTA Florida’s Volunteer Council for 3 years.  Sandi is committed to every project she undertakes and can always be counted on.  Her composed disposition is one to admire.

Andy Gladstone, director of competitive tennis for USTA Florida, acknowledges Sandi’s work ethic.

“She is extremely thorough, organized and calm.  She really thinks through problems and challenges.  Sandi is firm, yet nice.  When the pressures on, Sandi is there.”  Gladstone added, “I am always impressed with her!”

Sandi has played a key role in growing the game in her community.  When asked why she likes to volunteer in tennis, she replied, “I like working with wonderful individuals who have the same goal in mind.”

Congratulations Sandi on all your accomplishments and keep up the great work!
