Florida Couples Capture Gold and Silver Ball Trophies
at USTA National Husband-Wife Clay Championship

The ATP Tennis Club, in Ponte Vedra Beach held the sixth USTA National Husband-Wife Clay Court Championship October 26-28. 

Michael and Krista Edge, from Gulf Breeze, Florida defeated local favorite Marco and Missy Turra from Jacksonville, Florida 6-7,7-5, 6-3 to earn the national title.  In the third place match, Scott and Ashley Mitchell (Charlotte, North Carolina) defeated Greg & Judi Fess (Little Rock, Arkansas) 2-6,6-4,6-3.

The event attracted many local husband-wife teams from clubs in northeast Florida and from six different states. Participants enjoyed complimentary daily lunches throughout the weekend courtesy of long time tournament sponsor Firehouse Subs. 

All tournament proceeds benefited the First Coast Tennis Foundation in support of community programs.
