Bradenton's Alexandria Stiteler won the Nike Junior Tour National event in California last weekend, making her one of the four girls that will represent the U.S. at the international competition in the Dominican Republic next month.

Stefan Kozlov of Pembroke Pines, Fla., made the boy's squad by winning the 12s age group competition.

Shane Vinsant, who trains as a new member at the USTA Training Center Headquarters in Boca Raton, Fla., was to compete on the U.S. Junior Davis Cup team, but had to withdraw due to an abdominal injury. The Junior Davis Cup finals will be held Sept. 29-Oct. 4, 2009, in San Luis Potosi, Mexico, with a team comprised of Bjorn Fratangelo (Pittsburgh), Marcos Giron (Thousand Oaks, Calif.) and Hunter Harrington (Spartanburg, S.C., Vinsant's replacement).

Vinsant played earlier in the year, helping the U.S. to a position where they can defend their world title. Last year the U.S. won behind players Denis Kudla, Evan King and Raymond Sarmiento.

The U.S. is attempting to become the first back-to-back Junior Davis Cup winner since France in 1992-1993. USTA National Coach Mark Merklein will captain the U.S. Junior Davis Cup team, which has raised the Cup twice overall in 1999 and 2008.

In 1986 the U.S. finished runner-up behind a team that included Florida's Jim Courier and Michael Chang. In addition to Courier and Chang, former U.S. team members include Andy Roddick, James Blake, Lindsay Davenport, Jennifer Capriati, Mardy Fish, Robby Ginepri, Jamea Jackson, Ashley Harkleroad and Lisa Raymond.
