USTA Pro Circuit Futures at Bluewater Bay in Niceville, Fla.

The Bluewater Bay Tennis Center in Niceville, Fla., will be the site for the Nov. 10-15, 2009, USTA men's $10,000 professional circuit tennis tournament. In conjunction with the tournament, qualifying rounds will take place Nov. 6-9, 2009, with a kick-off party on Nov. 6 featuring a Calcutta event in which eight local players and pros will be matched against eight touring pros. 
 
Semifinal and final matches will take place on Saturday and Sunday, and there will be a $5 admission fee to benefit Okaloosa CARES, Inc., a Florida non-profit organization established to offer better quality of life opportunities for kids through tennis.
 
Andrey Pozhidaev won the event's wildcard tournament, defeating Enrique Grangeiro 7-6, 3-6, 6-1 in the final, earning a spot in the main draw. Pozhidaev, who hails from Sochi, Russia, is a student at the University of West Florida majoring in business finance. He ranked No. 15 in singles in the NCAA Division II South region in the Fall of 2008, was a doubles bronze medalist at the Russian National Championships, and singles champion at Russian Federation tournaments.
 
A local tennis player, Aaron May, has also received a wildcard into the main draw. May calls Destin, Fla., his home and is currently a freshman at Florida State University studying business with a goal of becoming an entrepreneur. Ranked in the Top 100 in the nation, May trained at the IMG Bollettieri Tennis Academy in Bradenton from 2003 to 2006, and the John Newcombe Tennis Ranch in New Braunfels, Tex., from 2007 through 2009.
