2009 USTA Wheelchair Tennis Grassroots Grants

November 15, 2009 06:00 PM
Local programming is pivotal to the growth of wheelchair tennis, and the United States Tennis Association would like to support the active members of the wheelchair tennis community with grant funds at the end of 2009.

If your local tennis organization currently supports your local programs's clinics, events, or equipment needs, you are eligible to apply for these funds. Grant requests must be submitted to USTA by Dec. 3, 2009. All grant recipients will be notified by Dec. 15, 2009.

Do not hesitate to contact the USTA at wheelchairinfo@usta.com if you have any questions.

One of the ways the USTA continues to succeed is through awarding grants to organizations that promote and develop the growth of wheelchair tennis and use the sport of tennis to build stronger, healthier communities. This grant is designed to target wheelchair programs that are growing wheelchair tennis in their local areas.

The amount of each wheelchair grant will be based on each program's existing budget and the future programmatic needs of the organization.

The USTA supports wheelchair programs that meet the USTA's grant initiatives, including:

* Coaching
* Court time
* Equipment
* Recruitment
* Events (i.e. Run/Rolls, tournaments, camps)
