Three Florida juniors captured titles over the weekend at the prestigious Eddie Herr International in Bradenton, Fla., with Miramar's Sachia Vickery winning the Girls' 16 title, Pembroke Pines' Stefan Kozlov winning the Boys' 12 title, and Bradenton's Maria Shishkina capturing the Girls' 12 title.

Overall Americans won six of the eight titles, with Virginia's Denis Kudla winning the Boys' 18 title, South Carolina's Hunter Harrington capturing the Boys' 16 championship, and Maryland's Spencer Liang winning the Girls' 14 crown.

For Shishkina it was her first major ITF title, previously reaching the final in the USTA Girls' 12s National Clay Court Championships in July. Kozlov broke through to win the title after reaching the final in 2008.

Bradenton's Ryan Harrison meanwhile took a major step this past weekend by winning the USTA Australian Open Wildcard Playoffs in Atlanta, handily defeating top-seeded fellow American Jesse Levine in the best-of-five set final 6-4, 6-1, 6-3.

The women's wildcard was won by 18-year-old CoCo Vandeweghe of Rancho Santa Fe, Calif., who defeated 17-year-old Christina McHale of Englewood Cliffs, N.J., 7-6(2), 0-6, 6-3.

It will be the second appearance in a main draw Grand Slam for Vandeweghe and the first for the 17-year-old Harrison.

The USTA secured the wildcards through a reciprocal agreement with Tennis Australia in which the two national tennis federations exchange wildcards for the 2010 Australian Open and 2009 US Open.
