USTA Multicultural Individual Tennis Grant Deadline Jan. 15

One-year grants ranging from $1,500 to $10,000 are available for the 'Multicultural Individual Player Grant for National Competition & Training,' with the grant deadline on Jan. 15, 2010.

The objectives of the Multicultural Individual Player Grant for National Competition & Training are to provide funding to competitive junior players who have achieved national and/or international rankings, and to assure the careful nurturing of young minority players who may be candidates for USTA Elite Player Development Programs.

Funding will be based on the success level of the player in the previous year (e.g., end of year USTA ranking list/performance), and eligible players must be training and competing in tournaments year round.

For consideration players must be ranked in the Top 100 nationally (i.e., USTA) in his/her age category, or have an ITF Ranking or ATP/WTA Ranking.

Input from USTA Player Development and USTA Section High Performance staff will be sought.
