January 18, 2010 06:00 PM

Below is video from the “Hit for Haiti” event held the day before play began at the Australian Open, organized by world No. 1 Roger Federer via text invitations to friends such as Andy Roddick, Serena Williams, Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, etc.

The fundraiser cost fans in Melbourne $10, and overall raised more than $185,000 for relief for victims of the Haiti earthquake.

The players wore microphones on the court, adding to the entertainment of mixed-doubles matches featuring player substitutions called out by chair umpire Jim Courier.

At one point Roddick mocks Williams’ tirade at the US Open when a line judge called him for a foot fault.

“Did you really call a foot fault on me in a charity match?” Roddick asked the line judge. “You realize Serena’s over there, right?”
