Gainesville, Miami Charity Tennis Tournaments in April

Gainesville to Host Benefit Tournament for Boys & Girls Club

The first-annual Boys & Girls Club's Aces for Kids -- 2010 Tennis Tournament will be held at the Jonesville Tennis Center in Gainesville on April 30-May 2, 2010. The entry deadline for the event is April 29, 2010 by 6 p.m.

"The Jonesville Tennis Center is the first public claycourt facility in Alachua County," says tournament organizer Keith Blanchard, president and chief professional officer of the Boys & Girls Club of Alachua County. "The tennis center is located within Jonesville Park, which already has soccer fields and will soon have baseball and softball fields. The park is located on CR241 which runs from Alachua to Newberry Road."

The tennis center consists of 14 clay hydrocourts, including one larger "show" court, a beach tennis court, and a small proshop/restroom building, which includes shower facilities.

Start times for the tournament will be available after 10 a.m. on Friday, April 29th, call the Jonesville Tennis

Miami Tennis Event to Benefit United Cerebral Palsy of South Florida

The Flamingo Park Tennis Center in Miami Beach will host the 2nd Annual Marissa Nestor Invitational, raising money for United Cerebral Palsy of South Florida, on Saturday, April 17, 2010.

The event is hosted by Eva Ritvo, M.D., co-author of "The Beauty Prescription: The Complete Guide to Looking and Feeling Beautiful," and the event will feature tennis pro Daniel Capote.

"We work to create better lives for children and adults with disabilities," says Jessica Dominguez, special events coordinator, United Cerebral Palsy of South Florida. "We are trying to make this tournament bigger and better each year to help raise funds."

The registration fees of $100 per team or $60 per single entry includes participation in tournament, awards luncheon, silent auction and more.
