April 12, 2010 07:00 PM
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- April 13, 1010 -- Two QuickStart Tennis Jamborees will be held on May 1, 2010, at Hidden Hills Country Club, and the St. Johns Tennis Academy Jamboree at Mills Field, both in Jacksonville, Fla. Each event is open to the public and helps kick off the summer season of USTA Florida QuickStart and Jr. Team Tennis League, with sign-up information available for participants.
The Hidden Hills Jamboree, from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. on May 1, is for children 10-and-under, while the Mills Field event, from 10-11:30 a.m. on May 1, also features QuickStart for 10-and-unders.

Each event will also feature games, prizes, and information on league play for children.
"Our Spring Jr. Team Tennis season was a success in the QuickStart Tennis divisions with seven teams participating in the Under-10 on 60' courts and three teams participating in the Under-8 on 36' courts," says USTA Florida Tennis Program Coordinator for the First Coast Region, Amanda Becker. "We are excited to have these facilities jump on board with the QuickStart Tennis program and get more kids playing the game."
QuickStart Tennis is the exciting new play format for learning tennis, designed to bring kids into the game by utilizing specialized equipment, shorter court dimensions and modified scoring, all tailored to age and size. It is divided into two different levels -- ages 8-and-under and ages 10-and-under.
