Free Tennis Clinic at MaliVai Washington Center in Jacksonville

April 11, 2010 07:00 PM

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – April 12, 2010 -- Calling all tennis players (and tennis player wannabes!) -- the NETworkers Young Professionals Group supporting the MaliVai Washington Kids Foundation (MWKF) will host a FREE tennis clinic this Thursday, April 15, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the MaliVai Washington Youth Center in Jacksonville.

Led by former Wimbledon runner-up MaliVai Washington and USPTA-certified tennis coaches, the informal event will provide a fun and casual “refresher” tennis clinic for young professionals, and also provide info on the summer USTA Florida Flex League. For the serious players, MWKF’s competitive students will be on hand for round-robin style tennis, with the winner to face MaliVai in the “finals.”

USTA Florida Flex League is for men and women 19 years and up, for playing levels from 2.5 to 5.0 and up. The 2.5 level is for beginners, while the 5.0 is for advanced players and current/former collegiate players or teaching pros. Singles, doubles, and mixed doubles play is available.

Admission to the clinic is free – participants are asked to bring a new can of balls to be donated to MWKF following the clinic.

NETworkers is the official group of young professionals supporting the MaliVai Washington Kids Foundation. USTA Florida Flex League is the official tennis league of the NETworkers Young Professionals Group.
