USTA Florida staff and volunteers participated in the Easter Seals Walk with Me event on May 5, 2010, at Mainland High School in Daytona Beach, Fla.

"An Easter Seals Walk With Me event is different...and so will you be at the end of it," is the slogan for the event, which saw hundreds of area supporters for adults and children with disabilities.

Each participating group is partnered with an Easter Seals Honorary Ambassador, a child or adult with a disability who has benefited from Easter Seals services. USTA Florida was partnered with Auburn, a seventh grader at Creekside Middle School who plays wheelchair tennis, plays flute in the school band, and was the 2008-09 Easter Seals Ambassador. The 13-year-old was born with spina bifida, underwent major surgery at two days old, and has overcome obstacles to become a bike-riding, tennis, and self-described shopping enthusiast.

Last year teams of families, friends and coworkers raised $3.6 million for Easter Seals Walk With Me across the country. In one year, through the support of volunteers, Easter Seal typically influences the lives of approximately 55 million Americans with disabilities and their families, engages with more than 3.5 million volunteers, and provides direct services to 1.6 million individuals with disabilities and their families in the United States, Puerto Rico, Australia and Canada.

"USTA Florida and our staff love supporting and participating in the Easter Seals Walk with Me fundraiser each year," said USTA Florida Executive Director Doug Booth.
