Palm Beach County Hosts USTA Tri-Level League Summer Opening Events

Summer season-opening tennis events featuring round robin play, USTA give-aways and prizes will kick off the upcoming season of the USTA Tri-Level League in Palm Beach County on May 15, 2010 (North Division) and June 1, 2010 (South Division).

The North Division (10th Avenue North to the Martin County line) of Palm Beach County event will be on Saturday, May 15, 2010, from 10 a.m. to noon at the BallenIsles Country Club in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. The South Division (6th Avenue South to the Hillsboro Canal-Broward County Line) event for Palm Beach County will be on Tuesday, June 1, 2010 from 6-8 p.m. at Boynton Beach Tennis Center in Boynton Beach, Fla.

The USTA Tri-Level League is open to adults and seniors 18 years and older, and features a format of three doubles matches per team, one each at the NTRP level of 3.0-3.5-4.0 for women, or levels 3.5-4.0-4.5 for men.

"We will also have a table set up to showcase First Serve of the Palm Beaches USTA Jr. Team Tennis for anyone who would be interested in making a personal donation for our Junior Player 'Opportunity Fund' for USTA Jr. Team Tennis in Palm Beach County," says USTA Florida Tennis Program Coordinator Janet Sprague.

Tri-level is the fastest-growing USTA league across the country, a socially-competitive program where teams consisting of three teams with different NTRP levels allows friends of different levels to play on the same team. There is no official USTA National Championship for USTA Tri-Level, however, USTA Sections can be represented each year at the Pacific Life Open Tri-Level National Championships in Indian Wells, Calif.

The Palm Beach County summer season opening events are free, but individual players or teams attending must RSVP. Players planning on attending the North Division event can contact Nina at onlitenis@gmail.com or (561) 427-8294, while players planning on attending the South Division event can contact Evelyn Baumner at evelyn.baumner@officedepot.com or (305) 772-2062.
