Allan Carter Boosts Hope for United States Men’s 65 International Tennis Team

Seeking its fourth international Britannia cup win since 2001, the United States Tennis Association announced that Allan Carter, Boca Raton, FL has been selected to play on the 2007 United States Men’s 65 International Tennis Team. The US will compete in this year’s Britannia Cup competition in Christchurch, New Zealand, November 26 to December 1st at the Ashburton Trust Tennis Center. This prestigious cup is an international team tennis competition similar to Davis Cup for men in the 65 age group. The International Tennis Federation (ITF) sponsors it annually. The United States team last won the cup in 2004, defeating a tough team from Austria in Philadelphia, PA.

Mr. Carter won the M65 Singles USTA National Hard Court Championship in 2006 and 2007 and the 2006 M65 Doubles USTA National Grass Court Championships. He was also a Finalist in the M65 Singles in the 2006 Natl. Grass Court Championships. 

Mr. Carter brings a wealth of successful tennis experience and versatility to this year’s Britannia cup team as one of only four players chosen from the United States top 65-year-old men senior players. Other members of the team will be Del Campbell, Captain, Dripping Springs, TX, Fred Drilling, Bethesda, MD, and Rudy Hernando, Ft. Lauderdale Fl.
