Valparaiso Elementary School, on the outskirts of Eglin Air Force Base, Florida, turns its physical education field into a tennis center for eight weeks each year.  Ms. Linda Holloway has been recognized for running an outstanding tennis school program by the USA Tennis Florida NW Region and will compete for the best of the state later this year.  Ms. Holloway provides a safe and well planned and executed tennis program to over 500 children from Kindergarten to 5th grade.  She turns her physical education field into a tennis center for eight weeks each year.  As a School Organizational Member of the USTA for the past 5 years, Valparaiso Elementary School has partnered with USA Tennis Florida and Wilson to obtained over 100 tennis racquets, six tennis nets, two ball machines, and hundreds of tennis balls. This allows Ms. Holloway to make tennis fun for every child on the playground and allows the children to experience the life long sport of tennis.  Ms. Holloway can usually be heard telling the kids, “get to the net, rally, and have fun.” USA Tennis Florida’s community consultant for NW Florida West, Rene Grifol, always looks forward to his annual visit Ms. Holloway’s school tennis Program.  Hitting with those happy kids, and awarding great prizes is a highlight for Grifol!
