September 1 marks the kick-off for the USA Tennis Florida/Wilson Racket Sports CONTEST for Florida schools this Fall semester!  The contest will run from September 1 thru November 30, and a school can join in at anytime.

In an effort to combat childhood obesity, USA Tennis Florida is offering a special take-home tennis equipment offer for every student that registers for an individual USTA membership during their PE Tennis Unit classes and/or their after-school tennis programs held on campus.

For $15.00, a student will receive all the tangible benefits from the USTA, including 3 magazine subscriptions, and will also become eligible to receive a take-home US Open youth tennis racket (23” or 25”) and 2-3 transition tennis balls.  The school that registers the most memberships during the 3-month contest period will become eligible for additional tennis equipment. Take-home flyers will be provided for PE teachers by USA Tennis Florida.

If this sounds like a sweet deal to you, its because it is!!  We hope that you take advantage of this opportunity to get tennis into your students’ hands year-round.

If you are interested in participating, please complete the Membership Drive Information Sheet and email it to or fax it to 386/671-8948.  You will then receive membership applications and take-home flyers for your students.

If your school or school district discourages you from collecting checks or even applications with credit card information on it, do not fret!!  USA Tennis Florida will also include after-school programs that are able to take advantage of this tennis contest and equipment opportunity.  (There is more flexibility with fee collection in after-school programs.)

Thanks for keeping tennis active in your students’ after-school lives, and thanks for helping us reach our mission “to promote and develop tennis in Florida!!”
