Brevard County’s very first USTA Florida Recreational Coaches Workshop was held Nov. 5 at Sarno, (Jimmy Moore Park,) in Melbourne.  USA Team Tennis parents and coaches, parks and recreation employees, PE teachers, high school coaches and local tennis pros were among the 24 participants.  The weather was perfect for the outdoor workshop!

The workshop was hosted by Barbara Wong's Community Tennis Association Senior Tennis, and national trainer Glen Howe led the on-court training.

USTA Florida Community Coordinator Trina Singian was very pleased with the turnout.

“This was the first Recreational Coaches Workshop held in Brevard County and we got a lot of support from the local community,” Singian said.  “Glen Howe did a fantastic job leading the on-court instruction!”

Thanks to outstanding community support, Singian said there are plans to organize another Recreational Coaches Workshop in the spring.
