FREE Carnival Kicks off Martin County Tennis Season

December 30, 2005 11:44 AM

Wednesday, Jan. 11 will kick off the Martin County Boys and Girls Club 2006 tennis season!  A free USTA carnival event will take place at the 10th Street Recreation Center in Stuart from 4-5:30 p.m.  USTA Clinician Herb Artis will offer Ralleyball and a variety of hands-on tennis games and activities for 9 to 14-year-olds.

The USTA Ralleyball season begins the following Wednesday, Jan. 18, and runs through Feb. 22 on Wednesday afternoons.

USTA Florida Community Coordinator Janet Sprague organized this event and the Ralleyball season for the Martin County Boys and Girls Club.  Janet is pleased to welcome newly-recruited volunteer Jim Moore who will be trained to help run this FREE Ralleyball program.

“The two courts at the rec center are in great shape, and there are renovations planned for 2006,” Sprague said.  “I am so thankful our new volunteer Jim has stepped up and committed to help out these youth in the next couple months.”
