Travis Tringas Charity Tennis Tournament

January 12, 2007 09:49 AM

The Junior League of Emerald Coast (JLEC) will host the Travis Tringas Charity Tennis Tournament March 16-18 at the Bluewater Bay Tennis Center in Niceville, Fla. The proceeds of the tournament will benefit the junior league of Emerald Coast and JLEC's mission of voluntarism and philanthropic investment in the region.

This tournament will provide the fundraising foundation for the JLEC to continue high-impact community initiatives such as the Child Clothing Project, which provides more than 300 underprivileged elementary students with necessary clothes and supplies, and enable JLEC members to annually maintain their investment of more than 5,000 community service hours to the Emerald Coast region.
The tournament will feature men's, women's and mixed doubles competition for players 18 and up with a NTRP rating of 2.5-5.5.  Singles entry fee is $35 and doubles entry is $55, both of which include a gift bag, refreshments, one entry into drawing for a Wilson N Code NE tennis racquet and play in a "clock the serve" contest.

“Since 1965, the Junior League of the Emerald Coast has impacted our community through service, historic preservation, leadership, fundraising, disaster relief and education.  We are in the business of training and utilizing volunteers to make a difference in our community,” said Jenna McMullin, public relations chair for the tournament.

“The Travis Tringas Charity Tennis Tournament will not only polish skills on the court but provide an impact on the community, too!”

The entry deadline is March 14 and for information, please visit www.jlec.org.
