Youth Village Receives Early Gift

December 4, 2007 11:32 AM

In November 2007 the Youth Tennis Foundation of Florida (YTF), which was established in 1962 to introduce children to the many benefits of tennis through scholarships and novel programs, presented the Youth Village After-School & Summer Program in Ft. Walton Beach with a ball machine.  This was in recognition of their twice a week tennis program they ran in 2007 that 8-20 youngsters participate in each day.

Morning sessions of their summer arts/education program consist of academics while afternoon sessions include the arts, such as writing, acting, dancing and singing that inspire creativity, confidence, character building and leadership. Tennis activities are conducted at two courts at a nearby condo complex, which are run by certified tennis instructors, Natalie Bogar and Anthony Roberts.

The summer program culminated in an end-of-summer production which was open to the public, while the after-school program continues to serve children throughout the school year.  After the 2007-2008 school year concludes in May/June 2008, the summer program will kick back into gear with a new ball machine, thanks to the YTF!

The Youth Village After-School & Summer Program was formed in 1999 for the purpose of creating a safe place to provide various educational and recreational services to the children of the greater Ft. Walton Beach community.  Children are admitted without regard to race, color, sex, religion or national origin.
