USTA Boys’ & Girls’ 12s National Spring Championships

Delray Beach, FL— Florida native Chanelle Van Nguyen of Coconut Grove partnered with singles champion Whiney Kay of Georgia to defeat No. 2 Blair Shankle of Texas and Nicole Flower of Ohio, 6-7 (1), 6-4, 6-3 in the final doubles match of the USTA Girl’s 12s National Spring Championships in Delray Beach April 9-15.

Boy’s No. 2 Bjorn Fratangelo of Pittsburg teamed with partner and local favorite, Jeremy Efferding of Lake Worth to roll through the doubles championship with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Casey Kay of Georgia and Gordon Watson of Naples.

These are days that create champions, rivalries and camaraderie.

Player's International Management (PIM), the sister company of the Delray Beach International Tennis Championships in Delray Beach (ATP Tour event), hosted this highest-level national junior tennis tournament for the fourth consecutive year in Delray Beach and Boca Raton.  The Sea Island Resorts presented the USTA Boys’ & Girls’ 12s National Spring Championships, and the tournament was hosted by the City of Delray Beach April 9 – 15 with the girls competing at the Delray Beach Tennis Center and the Delray Swim & Tennis Club, while the boys competed at the Swim & Racquet Center and Boca West Country Club.
