Junior Spotlight: Florida 10s No. 1 Tiffany Vietro

September 22, 2006 07:57 AM

With 31 tennis trophies under her belt, Tiffany Vietro is not the standard Boca Raton Waters Elementary School fifth grader.

Tiffany trains three hours a day, five days a week at the Evert Tennis Academy.
Tiffany is ranked No. 1 in the Florida 10s.
Tiffany recently qualified for the National Little Moe's tournament in Austin, TX, Oct. 21-23.
Tiffany signed a contract with Prince.
Tiffany is part of the Junior Performance Team.
Tiffany is now playing in the 12s.

Pretty impressive.

Tiffany has traveled throughout the state and beyond with Mom and Dad for USTA training camps and tournaments.

"My daughter loves to compete and earn trophies," Mrs. Vietro said.  "She has a nice collection now!

"USTA tournaments are great.  We have met some wonderful people such as Bobby Curtis and some great parents and players."

Mrs. Vietro is proud that her daughter is still a well-rounded young lady.

"Tiffany loves school almost as much as she loves tennis," she said.  "She has an incredible ability to manage her time – even with all the tennis, she is still able to be a 10-year-old girl and have friends.

"Tennis is a wonderful sport.  My mother plays, and Tiffany, my husband and I play.  It's a great sport that teaches discipline on and off the court, and it provides fun and competition."

Way to go, Tiffany.  Keep it up – you have many tennis-playing years ahead of you – good luck!
