Junior League of the Emerald Coast Announces
2nd Annual Travis Tringas Charity Tennis Tournament

The Junior League of Emerald Coast (JLEC) is pleased to announce the 2nd Annual Travis Tringas Charity Tennis Tournament sponsored by L3 Communications, Titan Group and First National Bank and Trust which will be held March 8, 2008 at the Bluewater Bay Tennis Center in Niceville, FL. The proceeds of the tournament will benefit the JLEC's mission of voluntarism and philanthropic investment in the region.

The JLEC is excited to announce that the festivities will not end once the tournament is over. This year we are also hosting "Racquets and Roulette" following the tournament that evening. Plans for this event include an elegant casino party featuring prizes, a silent auction, and fabulous food at the beautiful Emerald Grande on Destin Harbor from 7-11pm. Tickets are $60 per person and will go on sale through the JLEC office on February 1.

The tournament will feature men’s doubles, women’s doubles, and mixed doubles in a compass draw, short scoring, non elimination competition for players. The entry is fee is $55, both of which include a gift bag, refreshments, and half off the ticket price to the Junior League “Racquets and Roulette” event being held that evening at Emerald Grande.

Money raised from these events will provide the fundraising foundation for the JLEC to continue high-impact community initiatives such as the Child Clothing Project, which provides more than 300 underprivileged elementary students with necessary clothes and supplies that they could not otherwise afford, and enables JLEC members to annually maintain their investment of more than 5,000 community service hours to the Emerald Coast region.

“Since 1965, the Junior League of the Emerald Coast has impacted our community through service, historic preservation, leadership, fundraising, disaster relief and education.  We are in the business of training and utilizing volunteers to make a difference in our community,” said Allison Ming, chair for the tournament.
