2006 Queens and King of the Court

January 10, 2007 12:36 PM

The 11th annual MG Tennis Queens of the Court tennis tournament took place Dec. 27, 2006 at the Lake Cane Tennis Center in Orlando.  The doubles tournament consisted of twenty-eight ladies from the Southwest Orlando area who competed for the first and second place royal titles of Queens and Princesses.

Pat Raub and Karla Wagner walked away with the coveted title of Queens, while Sara Unnerstall and Sherry Gruden earned the respective name of Princesses.  Both teams were awarded trophies.

The event included a $50 raffle for a session of cutting edge doubles instruction at the Lake Cane Tennis Center.  Barby Molnar from Westminster won the raffle.

In a match resembling a professional tennis match, Robert Jolly and Sebastian Pulido played some spectacular tennis at the Lake Cane Tennis Center in January 2007 to decide the fall 2006 Men's In-House Flexible Singles League champion.  Pulido captured the first place trophy and a $50 gift certificate from MG Tennis by defeating Jolly 7-5, 6-4.
The Flexible In-House League at the Lake Cane Tennis Center encourages match play in a fun, yet competitive environment.  Players accumulate points for the championship race by playing everyone in their division throughout the season.  The top four players from each division advance to the finals for a play-off, where trophies and gift certificates are awarded to the champion and finalist at the end of the period.
Both tournaments were hosted by MG Tennis.  For more information about their programs visit http://www.mgtennis.com/.  The next season starts January 15th and spots are filling fast!
