Florida Club Teams Can Still Register for the USTA Tennis On Campus Fall Invitational

Tennis on Campus Fall Invitational LogoThe University of South Florida is one college tennis club team representing the Sunshine State at the 2011 USTA Tennis On Campus Fall Invitational, with entries still open for the event to be held at the Palmetto Dunes Tennis Center in Hilton Head, S.C., from Oct. 21-23, 2010.

The Fall Invitational is the national kick-off event for Tennis on Campus, open to the first 32 teams to enter. The University of Alabama took home the crown at the first-ever Tennis On Campus Fall Invitational in North Little Rock, Ark., last year.

The cost for the event is $175 per team, and the top two teams will receive automatic bids to the 2012 USTA Tennis On Campus National Championship.
 
2011 USTA Tennis On Campus Fall Invitational participating teams thus far are the Auburn University "A" Team, Clemson University "A" Team & "B" Team, College of Charleston "A" Team & "B" Team, Colorado School of Mines "A" Team & "B" Team, Duke University "A" Team & "B" Team, East Tennessee State University "A" Team, Ferris State University "A" Team, Georgia Institute of Technology "A" Team, Georgia Southern University "A" Team, Kennesaw State University "A" Team, Macon State College "A" Team, North Carolina State University "A" Team, Ohio University "A" Team & "B" Team, Old Dominion University "A" Team, University of Alabama "A" Team & "B" Team, University of Connecticut "A" Team, University of Dayton "A" Team, University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill "A" Team, University of North Carolina-Charlotte "A" Team, University of North Carolina-Greensboro "A" Team & "B" Team, University of North Carolina-Wilmington "A" Team, University of South Florida "A" Team, University of Tennessee-Knoxville "A" Team & "B" Team, and the Wake Forest University "A" Team.

USTA Releases 2012 USTA Men's Pro Circuit Calendar

usta pro circuit logo-collageThe USTA has released the first six months of the USTA Pro Circuit men's calendar, featuring Futures-level and Challenger-level events across the U.S. for players working their way up to ATP- and WTA-level events.

For Florida the first six months of the men's season holds nine Futures-level events and two Challenger-level events in the Sunshine State.

Futures-level men's events in 2012 are Jan. 9 at Plantation ($10,000), Jan. 16 at Tamarac ($10,000), Jan. 23 at Weston ($10,000), Jan. 30 at Palm Coast ($10,000), April 30 at Vero Beach ($10,000), May 7 at Orange Park/Jacksonville ($10,000), May 14 at Tampa ($10,000), June 18 at Indian Harbour Beach ($10,000), and June 25 at Innisbrook ($10,000).

Three dates on the calendar remain to be announced: March 12, March 19, and June 11, all proposed $15,000 events.

Florida's two Challenger events through the first six months of the year will be two of the oldest events on the U.S. calendar: the $50,000 Tallahassee Challenger on April 2, and the $100,000 Sarasota Challenger on April 16.
