SHARE THE LOVE GRANTS
In 2010, USTA Florida launched a $500,000 Share the Love grants initiative to help fund tennis programs and projects throughout Florida communities during these challenging economic times. Share the Love is an outreach initiative to help ensure current and future generations will play the lifetime sport of tennis. Through this initiative many new tennis programs have been developed and/or expanded throughout Florida for tennis enthusiasts of all ages. Due to the success of this initiative, we are offering the Share the Love grant opportunity through 2012. 

The grant awards typically range from $500 to $5,000; however, all requests will be considered.

Please note these important new guidelines:

ELIGIBILITY:

To qualify for a program grant, organizations:

Ø  Must be a current USTA member in good standing.  PLEASE NOTE:  Grant applications from individual USTA members will be limited to a maximum of $500 in grant funding, if approved.  This limitation does not apply to organizational members.

Ø  Should meet a compelling need in the community

Ø  10 and Under Tennis (TAUT) staff should be trained before receiving granted equipment, if possible.  Please list the date and location of the 10 and Under Tennis workshop attended by each TAUT staff person.

Ø  Practice and provide services without discrimination as protected by law

EXCLUSIONS:

Funds will not be granted for the following:

Ø  Staffing

Ø  Transportation

Ø  Scholarships

Ø  USTA Memberships

Grant Priorities:

Ø  Jr. Team Tennis

Ø  10 and Under Tennis

Ø  Senior tennis programs

Ø  Adaptive Tennis programs

Ø  Wheelchair Tennis programs

Ø  Tennis on Campus programs

Ø  Tennis in the Parks programs

Ø  Recreational Tennis programs

Ø  School and after school programs

Ø  Community Tennis Association programs

Important Note about Facility Assistance Grants:

Grants for 10 and Under Tennis Lines/Courts and Facility Improvement and Construction may also be available if the USTA National Guidelines are met by the facility. Up to 75% of grant dollars is available for adding 10 and Under Tennis Lines and court conversion projects. Guidelines for other facility improvements are available upon request. Please note: Grant applications will not be considered without a complete and balanced program budget at the time of online submission.  A balanced budget includes all anticipated income and expenses, including items not covered by the grant. For example, most programs include staff expenses and these expenses should be noted on the budget even though they would NOT be eligible for grant funding.
