2012 USTA League 4.0 Men's Adult National Championships Third Place - FLORIDA (Tampa Bay, Fla.) FRONT ROW L-R: Andrew Roig, Rob Tenney, Richard Beardsley (captain), Andrew Whitaker BACK ROW L-R: David Hennessee, Ricardo Roig, Aaron Medvick, Kirk Archer, Frankie Hennessey, Jason Magnan, Chip Broecker during the 2012 USTA League 4.0 Adult National Championships held at the Reffkin Tennis Center, in Tucson, Ariz.
Team Florida lost 1-4 to a very strong Mid Mountain team from Utah in our Sunday morning semi match.  After a 1 hour break, Team Florida played Hawaii to see who would come in third place. Because of the grueling match schedule and soaring temperatures I had to make some changes in our lineup.  Team Florida rebounded beautifully and beat Hawaii 4-1. Team Florida earned a 3RD place finish after posting a 4-1 record.  The Florida ladies from Gainesville also placed in third place at Nationals.
We had a great time in Tucson and met a lot of great players. I would like to thank all my players and their families for a tennis season that I will always remember.

Team HCC now called Team Florida had two tough matches on Friday.  The morning match with Southern CA went down to the wire.  Team Florida took all three doubles and Southern CA win both singles.  Our second match against Southwest had a lot of drama even though we won  4-1.  In one our # 1 doubles we were down  3-9 in a match tie breaker and we won 8 straight points. A win on Saturday will put us in the final four.
Team Florida from Tampa/ HCC won 3-2 this morning against a very good Southern CA team. Team Florida won all 3 doubles matches and Southern CA took the singles.  Our second match is later this afternoon against Southwest. There are a lot of great players in Tucson with the same goal in mind.
Stay tuned,
