The USTA Florida Tri-Level league tennis men's team from Daytona Beach, and the women's team from Jacksonville will represent the USTA Florida Section at the 2013 BNP Paribas Open Tri-Level Championship after clinching berths Sunday at the USTA Florida Section Tri-Level League Play-Offs, held Feb. 9-10, 2013 at the Florida Tennis Center in Daytona Beach.

The Volusia/Flagler counties men's team (playing out of the Florida Tennis Center, Daytona Beach), captained by John Hudson, was undefeated over the weekend with wins over Duval and North Palm Beach counties. Their team roster was comprised of Martin Larsson, Ryan Murray, Noel Gubatan, Todd Vanhoozier, Preston Carpenter, John Hollis, Ron Browning, Rock Gentile, James Stewart, and Kirk Searls.

The Duval County women's team (San Jose Country Club, Jacksonville), captained by Lisa Miller, was also undefeated with a perfect 3-0 record, topping teams from Volusia/Flagler, North Palm Beach and South Palm Beach counties. Their team roster was comprised of Amy Cochran, Rosemary Jackson, Laurie Scott, Andrea Frick, Nancy Hanna, Jamie Ross, Aimee Powell, Nancy Apple, Rose Caven, Karla Liguori, Kim Price, and Krista Brown.

Teams from Duval, North Palm Beach, South Palm Beach, and Volusia/Flagler counties competed over the weekend in the first-ever USTA Florida Section Tri-Level League Play-Offs, held to accommodate the increasing number of Tri-Level local leagues in Florida. Tri-Level League is for players who want to compete with friends who are different NTRP rating levels, on the same team.

Tri-Level League tennis is comprised of three doubles positions at the 3.5, 4.0, and 4.5 levels. This socially competitive league is a great way to enjoy the camaraderie of friends and fellow players at different levels in a team experience. Players must be 18 years or older to participate, and the program does not generate ratings.

The 2013 BNP Paribas Open Tri-Level Championship in Indian Wells, Calif., is a doubles competition in which each of the 17 USTA Sections provide the opportunity to send a team representing its section to compete in the championship, as well as enjoy viewing the final weekend of the 2013 BNP Paribas Open, a combined ATP/WTA event.

At the Tri-Level championships the men's and women's championship teams will be recognized on Stadium Court during the ATP/WTA event. Players will also receive one complimentary Loge ticket to the 2013 BNP Paribas Open for the Thursday night through Sunday day sessions, an invite to a complimentary dinner to be held on Saturday, March 16, and a FILA gift. Individual awards will be presented to the winners of each flight. Each player on the winning team of the 2013 BNP Paribas Open Tri-Level Championship will receive a FILA product package and an additional award.
