Antonio Mora is moving on up, literally, in the Florida junior tennis scene entering this weekend’s USTA Florida ‘Bobby Curtis’ State Doubles Championships at the Florida Tennis Center in Daytona Beach.

The rising 8th grader already has one year of high school tennis experience under his belt, and comes into Daytona Beach competing in the 14s division for the second year, looking to add to the 12s championship he won in 2011.

"It is my favorite tournament, probably, the state doubles. I love state doubles," says Mora, who will be making his fifth career Bobby Curtis State Doubles appearance. "All the kids are there and it is just so fun, there is not as much pressure as singles. I love the facility and I love that venue -- it's big, and I love everything about it."

He's also on the verge of cracking the Top 10 in his age group in the Florida junior rankings. Mora spoke to USTA Florida on the eve of the state’s top doubles event.

Which do you prefer, Facebook or Twitter?
Neither.

Serena or Venus?
Serena.

Chocolate or ice cream?
Maybe chocolate. Can I do chocolate ice cream?

Novak, Rafa or Roger?
Roger Federer, because I just love his game, I love his class, and he has an amazing one-handed backhand.

Gatorade or Powerade?
Gatorade.

Sharapova or Azarenka?
Sharapova.

What is your favorite website?

Favorite app?
Instagram.

Favorite TV show?
X-Factor.

Singles or doubles?
I like doubles better. I just love being at the net and poaching and having a partner there and communicating. It's so fun. I've always liked playing at the net, I used to always play with my dad [around the net], I don't know, I think I've always liked to volley.

What’s it like playing against high school kids as a 7th and 8th grader?
They are so much bigger and stronger, but I’ve made adjustments.

The Bobby Curtis State Doubles is one of the few major tournaments to include mixed doubles, will you be playing the mixed too?
Yes, I love playing mixed doubles. It’s just different, you never really get to play a lot so it's just fun, and there's not as much pressure. I think there should be more [tournaments with] mixed for sure.

What is the strangest thing that happened to you at a tournament?
One time someone called a foot fault on me, my opponent. They can't do that, and I had to get a referee.

What is the best thing about traveling to tournaments?
I like meeting all the kids and seeing my international friends.

What is your favorite reward food after a big victory or a tournament win?
My favorite food ever is lava cake. There's this one place called Grand Lux that I went to after I won a couple matches at spring nationals in the 12s, that was my favorite.

Do you have any goals for the remainder of the year or for 2014?
Next year I really want to win a [USTA] ball at a super national, and this year I want to win state doubles!
