FSUThe Florida State men's tennis team will have five dual matches broadcast on ESPN3 this spring, in addition to the USTA Clay Court Invitational at Disney during the fall.

Earlier this month, a new Intercollegiate Tennis Association format for Division I tennis was announced that includes no-ad scoring and changing doubles matches to one set of six games in an attempt to make college tennis more TV-friendly.

"We are thrilled to see college tennis and Florida State move in a bold direction," said Men's Head Coach Dwayne Hultquist. "I hear from fans how exciting college tennis is. Now people will have the opportunity to watch Florida State tennis all over the world."

Last season during the USTA College Matchday, the 'Noles were featured on national television against Oklahoma.

"This is a step forward for college tennis and Florida State is leading the way with the new tight and drama-filled format," said USTA Senior Director of Market Development and College Tennis Virgil Christian. "I can see why ESPN wants to broadcast Seminole Tennis."

The five-match television schedule will include a mix of conference and non-conference opponents. While the matches that will be televised have not yet been announced, the Seminoles will host NCAA Tournament teams Florida, Notre Dame, and Virginia Tech, as well as national semifinalist Virginia. Florida State will also head to Norman, Okla., for a match at Oklahoma, the national runner-up in 2014.
