Orlando Tennis Center to Host 10 and Under Tennis PlayDay
Beginner to advanced children and parents can enjoy tennis together on age-appropriate sized courts when the Hebni Nutrition Consultants NJTL (Nation Junior Tennis and Learning) chapter in Orlando, Fla., hosts a free 10 and Under Tennis PlayDay on June 16, 2012, at the Orlando Tennis Center from 11 a.m.-1 p.m..
For children age 10 and under, the event will feature USTA 10 and Under Tennis, which encourages children -- and their parents -- to get active and stay active. With smaller courts and racquets, lower-bouncing balls and simplified scoring, the game of tennis is now not only tailored to a child's size but also their attention span. Gone are the days of the boring drills and chasing balls all over regulation-sized playing surfaces. From the first day, kids are playing and learning the rules through competitive experience.
PlayDays are events to introduce kids to competition in a fun, low-pressure setting where results are not documented and kids have the opportunity to get additional play experience.
Hebni Nutrition Consultants kids tennis programs have been supported by USTA Florida "Share the Love" grants totaling $30,000, and a USTA Florida Section Foundation grant of $4,750 over the last two years. Hebni Nutrition Consultants is also supported by Aces for Kids, a national initiative of the USTA that strives to promote healthy lifestyles by combating childhood/adult obesity by providing disadvantaged, at-risk children the opportunity to learn to play tennis and improve their academic skills in a structured format; develop computer literacy; interact with a mentor and other students; and attend college preparatory sessions.
The USTA/National Junior Tennis & Learning (NJTL) network is a nation-wide group of more than 600 non-profit youth development organizations that provide free or low cost tennis, education and life skills programming to more than 250,000 children each year. NJTL develops the character of young people by emphasizing the ideals and life of co-founder Arthur Ashe.
The Orlando Tennis Center is located at 649 W. Livingston Street, and can be reached at (407) 316-4516.

"We are also very proud to introduce the newest product to the CT family, TRX Cardio Tennis. If you are not familiar with TRX suspension training it is the hottest thing in the fitness industry. It is functional training to develop power, strength, balance and flexibility. It is the perfect partner for Cardio Tennis and the development of TRX CT has been a long time in the making."

IMG will give away five IMG Academies Tennis Gift Pack's featuring Nick Bollettieri-signed memorabilia via a raffle for registered participants.
"There are pre-requisites for professionals to attend the TRX CT course," Krause says.
