The USTA Florida Tennis on Campus circuit will host its first East Coast Invitational on March 2-3, 2013, at the Ormond Beach Tennis Center in Ormond Beach, Fla.

The tournament is open to the first 16 schools to enter, with an entry deadline of Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013.

"It will be a weekend of competitive tennis, great fun, and relaxing on the beach," said University of Central Florida tennis Club President and event organizer A.J. Schuyler. "A tournament shirt will be provided for each participant, and there will be a trophy for the champion and the runner-up."

Prior to the tournament, each registered school will be sent a packet with pool designations, start times, locations, etc. Water will be provided on site as well as bagels, bananas and breakfast items.

The entry fee for the tournament will be $40 per team, which can be paid on site. USTA Florida also has discounts at many hotels in the Daytona Beach area. For a complete list of hotels visit www.florida.usta.com/About-Us/USTA_Florida_Official_Hotels__Restaurants/.

The Tennis on Campus team format features men's and women's singles, doubles and mixed doubles, with a minimum of two men and two women per team. The format uses World TeamTennis (WTT) scoring, where the first up to five games wins the match, with a 12-point super-tiebreak if the match is tied at four games all. Total cumulative games determine the overall winning team of each match. The WTT scoring format also features no-ad scoring, player substitutions, and player on-court coaching is allowed.
