Kidz ROGY Tennis Festival in Delray Beach

January 1, 2014 11:34 AM
The Delray Beach Open by the Venetian Las Vegas, an ATP World Tour event, will host a Kidz ROGY Tennis Festival on Monday, Feb. 17, 2014 at the Delray Beach Tennis Center.

Play will include Red Ball (ages 6-8), Orange Ball (ages 8-10), Green Dot Ball (ages 10-14), and Yellow Ball (ages 11-16). Round-robin matches will be on-going throughout the day, with each player participating in a minimum three matches (singles and doubles).

Players must be able to serve, rally and keep score. The Kidz ROGY Tennis Festival is a recreational-level event with no ranking points offered.

There will also be 10 and Under Activities that will include fun-filled tennis games with prizes, arts and crafts, face painting and more. These activities will be separate from the ROGY Matches and will be open to children ages 4-10 years with little or no tennis experience. These activities will take place on courts 13 & 14 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. These courts will have no formal matches or instruction, and parents/guardians must accompany children on court for tennis games.
"Community, charity, and school groups are welcome," says USTA Florida Tennis Program Coordinator Janet Sprague. "High school players and tennis teaching professionals are needed to volunteer, and volunteers will receive a complimentary ticket into the stadium to watch matches."

The event fee is $30 for non-USTA members and $25 for USTA members.
