Palm Coast Senior Games Tennis, 'Masters Tennis' Demo

florida senior gamesThe Palm Coast and Flagler Beach areas will host the regional tennis event for the Florida Senior Games on Sept. 15-18, 2014, at the Palm Coast Tennis Center in Palm Coast, Fla.

The event will also feature a demonstration of Masters Tennis, the new USTA Florida short court format ideal for older players.

"The Palm Coast Tennis Center is happy to welcome the senior games to our facility," said Eric Dubin, tennis director for Palm Coast Tennis Center. "We are excited to kick off the games with a Masters Tennis demo at 8 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 15. We look forward to seeing everyone there."

Competition in the Florida Senior Games is open to player age 50 and over. The registration deadline for the event is Sept. 10. The cost for the event is $15 per person which includes a t-shirt.

Masters Tennis is the new 60-foot fun short-court option played within a full-size 78-foot tennis court, or set up as a court on its own, indoors or outdoors. Masters Tennis is for a wide variety of players from veterans looking to get back in the game after injuries to adults newer to the game looking for a fun challenge. Players can use their regular tennis racquets, or smaller racquets which are easier on wrist, elbow and shoulder joints. For more information go to www.masterstennisflorida.com.

The Palm Coast Tennis Center is located at 1290 Belle Terre Parkway in Palm Coast. The event is sanctioned by the Florida Sports Foundation and is a qualifier for the Florida State Games State Championships.
