USTA to Host Jr. Showcase for H.S. Players at ITA Convention in Naples

October 29, 2013 03:14 PM
ITA_logoThe USTA will host a Junior Showcase at the ITA Convention on Friday, Dec. 13, 2013, from 10:30 a.m.-7 p.m. at the Waldorf Astoria Naples in Naples, Fla.

Junior players will get a chance to play matches in front of college coaches from all divisions from across the country, while parents can learn more about college tennis and the recruiting process. There will be a college tennis and recruiting information session held during the showcase.

Matches will be short sets to six games with a tiebreak at 5-5. Players will be guaranteed at least three matches. Space is limited to 32 boys and 32 girls on a first-come, first-served basis. A wait list will also be maintained.

The event is open to all high school-aged players who aspire to play college tennis, with a cost of $20 per player, payable by cash or check the day of the event. Due to the variety of NCAA, NAIA, and junior college recruiting rules regarding contact, no contact between coaches and players will be allowed before, during, or after this event to prevent any rules violations and to eliminate any confusion.

Space is limited, reserve your place today by e-mailing Rosalie Passiatore, administrative assistant, USTA Market Development & Collegiate Tennis, at passiatore@usta.com.
