ROGY Tennis Rocks 35 Kids at Heinser Academy in Miami

rogy_heiner_nov_2013Thirty-five kids and their parents experienced ROGY Tennis (for the Red, Orange, Green, and Yellow tennis ball progression) during the Fall ROGY Classic at the Reiner Heinser Tennis Academy in Miami, Fla., on Saturday, Nov. 16, 2013.

ROGY hones the skills of young beginner and intermediate players in a fun, no-pressure environment featuring the 10 and Under Tennis format of play. Kids use right-sized racquets, lower-bouncing balls and smaller court sizes, and experience fun round-robin match play with no pressure of winning or losing, or results applied to rankings.

"Parents and players had a good time," said organizer and academy founder Reiner Heinser. "The players had two matches and one doubles. It was one of the best ROGY Festivals. Some people came from Broward County, there are very loyal parents and players who like the competition and organization. All the parents talked to each other, exchanged telephone numbers for matches in the future for the kids, and it was more laughing and joking and cheering."

ROGY is ideal for youth players of all ages who want to play against opponents with a similar skill level. By removing the rankings and focusing on gaining experience rather than winning, the events provide a more fun way for youth players to participate. It is also ideal for parents who don't want the high stress and long days associated with competitive tournaments, or the obligation of playing a regular league.
