The $500 scholarships go to USTA Florida Jr. Team Tennis players who display good character, good attitude, tennis ability, a desire to improve their tennis skills, and participate in a local USTA Florida Jr. Team Tennis program.

The 2012 scholarship awardees are:

Jefferson Lustre, Orlando (coach: Nita Klingenberg)
Taylor Cook, Largo (coach: Erik Chall)
Marc Moreira, St. Johns (coach: Heather Lester)                               &nbsp;
Tatiyana Roberts, Jacksonville (coach: Terri Florio)
Danielle DuPuis, Port Orange (coach: Rita Gladstone)
Jensyn Blouin, West Palm Beach (coach: Ira Peskowitz)
Sabah Arenas, Pembroke Pines (coach: Juan Coutinho)
Julia Mjtenyi, Palm Beach (coach: Susan Allshouse)

The "Kelley" Awards are named in honor and recognition of YTF past president Pierce Kelley. According to the YTF website, "The concept of team tennis has always been near and dear to Pierce's heart. In 1976, Pierce initiated through the YTF the first team tennis program in the state of Florida that was later picked-up and administered by [USTA Florida]. The program continues to thrive today due to Pierce's leadership, passion and efforts that started some 30 years ago. As such, the board thought it only fitting that the Kelley name be associated in perpetuity with [USTA Jr. Team Tennis]."
Established in 1962, the Youth Tennis Foundation of Florida, Inc., is a nonprofit organization that offers support for the development of youth tennis in Florida. The YTF's goal is to introduce children to the many benefits of tennis, and, among other things, provide scholarships, grants and awards to deserving players, coaches and tennis facilities.
