Important information for 2014 Early-Start Ratings

Early-start ratings for Florida players will ONLY be published on the USTA Florida Section web site.

Please do not look for early-start ratings or appeal information through TennisLink http://tennislink.usta.com as only year-end ratings are published there.

Players cannot appeal through TennisLink’s "Find NTRP Rating Info" for an early start rating.

NOTE: If your name does not appear on the Early-Start Ratings list, then your rating has not changed at this time & you will maintain your last rating.

The early-start ratings are published in August for the sole purpose of establishing a rating for those players who plan to play during the 2014 USTA League season which may begin play as early as September 2013.

The ratings apply ONLY to those individuals who are playing in EARLY START PROGRAMS & DO NOT apply to those players participating in leagues which begin play after January 1, 2014.

It is important to note that this is not your final rating for the 2014 USTA League season.

Year-end ratings will be published after the 2013 USTA League Tennis National Championships are complete and published the first week of December.

How to appeal your Early Start Rating

Please note that if you are not participating in an Early Start League, you do not need to appeal your rating at this time.

Automated Appeals: For those players registering on an Adult 18 & Over, Adult 40 & Over or Adult 55 & Over Early-Start League team, you must utilize the Automated Appeal feature in Tennis Link.
To use this, you will need the team number at the level you are appealing to (provided by your captain or Local League Coordinator) and your USTA number.

1. Go to Register for a Team….use the team number….if your rating is too high you will see an APPEAL button

2. Click on the Appeal button and fill in the desired rating and you will have an immediate answer.

3.  You can ONLY appeal DOWNWARD during Registration for an Early-Start League.
