The USTA has developed a cutting edge in-school curriculum with Dr. Robert Pangrazi, the “Physical Educators Guide for Teaching Tennis in Schools”. The PE curriculum kit and School Tennis Workshop make it easy for educators to feel comfortable offering tennis in school settings. The format uses age and size appropriate equipment and short courts to help make the learning process easier and a lot more fun. No tennis experience required by the teacher or the student!
You can help provide more play opportunities for tennis beyond the Physical Education class. Whether it is lunchtime tennis, before/after school tennis, or a Kids' Tennis Club, there is a play format that fits your school’s programming schedule and does not require access to tennis courts.
USTA Florida can assist schools interested in organizing intramural and interscholastic leagues, including programs that that attract students by focusing on the inclusive nature of team sports. We provide resources and
grant opportunities that help make it easy to bring these programs to your school.
The USTA is continuing to create resources and tools designed to make offering tennis in-school or after school easy and enjoyable for organizers. Check back for additional materials as they are developed.
